Cruxim: You Are Never Alone (Paranormal Fallen Angels) (Volume 1)

Cruxim: You Are Never Alone (Paranormal Fallen Angels) (Volume 1) - Karin Cox If you could only save one character from the book, which one would it be and why? Sabine, just loved her character. A Spinx, just such a intriguing creature.

Did you find this book a quick read? The book was a quick and fun read. Definitely will look out for other books by this author.

List the characters and describe them. Adedeo - Fallen angel. He was a Cruxim. He searched for Josyln and Sabine, he loved them both. He had wings and great strength.

Sabine - The guardian, she was immortal. She was half woman, half lioness. She was very strong. Only one of her kind. She love Adedeo.

Joslyn - Very beautiful, vampire. She loved Adedeo.

Dr. Gandler - Cruel man that searched for anyone unusual. He operated and them and tortured them. Displayed them in a circus to make money. He wanted to become a vamp.

Was the story credible? The story and characters were credible.

Blown Circuit: Explosive Spy Action for Mystery Thriller Fans (#2)

Blown Circuit - Lars Guignard What do you think the author was trying to accomplish with this novel? I think the author was trying to educate us, but mostly just to take us on a fantastic journey.

What did you think of the action in this novel? The story was full of action and mayhem. The writing made it a quick read and I think the author took his time with building suspense for the reader to enjoy.

Did you find this book a quick read? Once I started I could not stop no matter what. Forget the book club, this was a read just for me.

Greedy for Life: A Memoir on Aging with Gratitude

Greedy For Life: A Memoir on Aging with Gratitude - Lori Stevic-Rust What do you think the author was trying to accomplish with this novel?

She talked a lot about herself and her accomplishments. Then about her family.

What makes a minor character memorable?

When Grandpa and Nana paid the neighbors mortgage for 2 months. Shows strong character and love.

At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters?

I feel hope for most of them and Nana by herself was a hopeful character.

Our Little Secrets: 1 (Montana Romance)

Our Little Secrets - Merry Farmer Favourite scene... Phineas trying to evade Ms. Helen. This keeps happening throughout most of the book. I loved each scene.

Describe 2 different settings or locations. The morning Michael and Charlie got married at the court house. After all the questions Michael’s friends asked, I questioned myself on how well we know our spouse when we get married.

The day Charlie figures out Michael knew her step-father. She realized there is more to his past than just some woman he does not want to talk about.

How do you define the central theme in this story. I can see myself as Charlie or Delilah. Each are strong females that do not wilt under extreme situations.

They Still Call Me Sister

They Still Call Me Sister - Deborah Plummer Bussey Was location important to the story?

The story took place in Cleveland and Atlanta, but I feel the story could take place in any large metro city. Do not think the cities picked by the author would make a difference if it happened in Dallas or Fargo. The story was not in the location, it was with the characters and plot.

Would you recommend it? I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a cozy mystery. The author provided some insight to therapy with patients and how a medical person might go about figuring out their patient. Granted I am sure most of them would turn all this information over to the police, but this provided interesting reading and allowed me to imagine for a time.

What makes a minor character memorable? Jon, he supported Kathy in everything. But I will remember him most because he did not allow life, race or anything to stand in his way. I could personally feel the love between him and Kathy.

Was the time period important to the story? The story could of happened 20-50 years ago but I do not believe it would be as interesting.

The Shadow of the Unicorn: The Legacy (The Shadow of the Unicorn Series)

The Shadow of the Unicorn: The Legacy (The Shadow of the Unicorn, #1) - Suzanne de Montigny Who do you think the author intended to read this book and why? Young kids like me. Mom said it was the perfect book for my age. I am 10.

At the end of the book, do you feel hope for the characters? I feel that the unicorns are safe. I wonder if this is why I have never saw a unicorn. They went somewhere safe to be away from greedy humans.

Did you find any flaws in the book? Yes, Ishmael was mean. He is a big flaw.

What I didn't like. Personally, I hated the cover. Did not feel it portrayed the story inside.

Sleeper's Run

Sleeper's Run - Henry Mosquera List the characters and describe them. Eric - Air force for 8 years. He worked in special ops and he was a parametric. Very intelligent and proud of his heritage.

Trishna - CIA. Loved Eric. Born in Tampa. Tall and beautiful.

James - Air force, special ops. Eric's friend and confidant.

Tony - Rich, play boy. Set Eric up to kill the president.

Nathan - Worked for the CIA for 40 years. Picked Eric to be the first sleeper for the project.

What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing this book? To get us to think about the government and all their cover ups.

If you were in a problem situation like one in the book, how would you have acted? I would have searched until I got the answers, just like Eric did. I think this is where the author won me, he wrote in a way that connected with any reader.

Where did the story take place? The story started in Carrara.

List the places mentioned in the book. Greece - Where they were to be married. Bellavida was to be the name of their new house. New York was where Valeria lives. Central Park, Italy, The Styx River, Florence.

Consider the ending. Did you expect it or were you surprised? Somewhat surprised about the ending. Did not know there would be a second book until the end.

Make a list of facts you learned from the story. The kids were seniors in high school. Kai's mom's name was Bethany. His father was a shape shifter. Kai was head over heels in love with Sienna. James was abusive to Sienna. Kai was a shape shifter. Astrid was a vampire. Quinn was evil.

What other books has this author written? According to an interview with the author, she is a journalist, but I believe this is her first book. Would like to read some articles she has wrote.

Here Among Us

Here Among Us - Maggie Harryman Consider the ending. Did you expect it or were you surprised? The ending was expected although it's not one of my favorite endings for a book.

Is the story plot or character driven? This book is character driven.

Who in this book would you most like to meet? It would definitely have to be Flynn. Of all the author's descriptions, I liked this the best.

Fighting the Effects of Gravity: A Bittersweet Journey into Middle Life

Fighting the Effects of Gravity: A Bittersweet Journey Into Middle Life - James Robinson Jr. Did you like the way the story ended? Why or why not? The ending was okay, another book club member agreed with me that something felt missing.

What did you think was the most interesting part of the book? The little stories Robinson provides showing how he is losing his fight with gravity.

Tell about the most exciting part of the book. His sagging butt (sorry truly loved this part) This is the second chapter and the second paragraph, the author is talking about how adults add Mr (or condescending words) when talking to children (Mr. Jacket, Mr. Shoe, Mr. Asparagus), rabbit ears on a television (so remember this so well), the author trying to use Mister Stick to discipline his girls.

If your book was a mystery, tell what the mystery was and how it was solved. Yes it was a mystery. A mystery that will never be solved until someone finds that fountain of youth Juan Ponce de Leon kept searching and never found a solution.

Trapped

Trapped - George A. Bernstein What do you think will be your lasting impression of this book?

That Jackee’s medical condition was real. Another book club member and I talked at length about this. Never knew any medical condition similar to Jackee’s.

Tell us whatever you thought.

I liked the writing style, the unique story like, the cover, the mystery/suspense/thrill in the plot. Very interesting read. This would make a great movie.

Was the book different from what you expected?

A little different but nothing that would cause major concern. I did not expect the little paranormal throw in by the author. But, I enjoyed it very much.

Was it a good book?

This was a fantastic book. Cannot wait to read more books by Bernstein.
